Signs Point to Hard Times Ahead for Corbin Fisher

Has anyone else noticed that the Corbin Fisher site has been gradually declining in quality this year?  No doubt in an effort to keep up with membership demands for regular updates, the site is "padding" by posting very dated and supposedly unreleased videos from their vaults.  Unfortunately, they have not been paying careful attention to which videos they are posting and one of the recent scene offerings was actually released over a year ago.  On July 8, 2018, "Cain Dives into Connor" was billed as an update from the Pura Vida Collection from 2011.  In fact, I already have the video in my library so it cannot be called an update.   A quick search on the internet for the same title provides a link to view the full video on a free streaming service.  There was a time stamp that the video was uploaded in 2016 where it has been available for free during the past two years without any DCMA challenge from Liberty Media.   These are the kind of deceptive practices that chase loyal subscribers away.

But there are more ominous signs of even further decline to come.  A closer look at the 12 most recent postings that appear on page one of "Guys" reveals some disturbing trends.

Of the 12 videos, let's first take out the two supposed updates from a BelAmi shoot that happened almost 8 years ago:  "Josh & Luke Hammill" and "Zeke, Brandon Manilow and Manuel Rios".

Let's also take out "Lucas and Dawson in Sydney" as that also is not an update, but a previously released scene from 2011 which is currently available for streaming through a third party pay-per-view or for download at sites such as AEBN.

Of the remaining nine videos updates:

Jack appears in 2 scenes
Casey appears in 2 scenes
Sawyer appears in 2 scenes
Toby appears in 2 scenes
Max appears in 2 scenes
Beau appears in 2 scenes

It looks like the producer was playing musical chairs by switching up 6 guys to produce 9 scenes.

There are only 2 new guys, Johnny and Jude, for the month.  If you can't find new talent, it might make sense to look into bringing back some recently departed talent.   And it looks like they reached out to Lane who has been on a 7-month hiatus since his last scene was posted in April 2018.  He looks great and more edgy with the facial hair.  But honestly, bringing fan-favorite Kellan out of retirement and posting a random scene from a San Francisco visit seems like a desperate move.  I used to love Kellan with his handsome boyish looks.  But he should have graduated from CF a long time ago along with his classmates Connor, Dawson, Travis, Kent, Austin, Cain, Quinn, Ashton, Trey and others who are now nearing or past 30 years old, and would be better served by moving on to other studios or chat platforms.  Connor still looks amazing and has found a continuing fan base in online chat, but even he would be just as out of place were he to return to CF Campus.   Alumni Ashton has done a couple of scenes for Chaosmen, TheGuySite and dozens for Men.com.   Sebastian and and fellow CF alumni Ryder are working with the successful Guysinsweatpants.  Quinn has also struck out on his own since being let go by the studio over violation of policy prohibiting fraternizing with a colleague (Kellan) outside of work.

The sudden reemergence of Kellan is a sad reminder of the Golden Era of Corbin Fisher when coming to the site each week we would be greeted by impossibly gorgeous collegiate young men and jock types who fulfilled our fantasy of making it with the straight guy from school.   Those stars are gone, and the site seems to be having a difficult time replenishing the empty slots with quality new talent. I would hazard a guess that increase in competition from other sites, a decline in subscriptions due to online file sharing, recruitment and retention of talent play a part in whatever crisis the company may be facing.

On the topic of talent, new guy Johnny with his diamond earrings and double sleeve tattoos seemed a bit of departure from the CF norm, but I have no problem with mixing it up since he's decent looking kid.

New guy Jude has more of the collegiate look the site is known for, but you will recall he has previously worked for direct competitor Gayhoopla under the name of Bruce Sheppard and released a solo and straight scene.  The scrappy site that broke off from Fratmen, whose videos are shot on consumer HD camcorders has been able to thrive by recruiting fresh and quality talent from the same college-age demographic.  If recruiting new talent is that tough, they could very well call and invite Jude/Sheppard back.   The girl bait at HotGuysFuck are absolutely several notches above the female talent at ACS and that alone is a huge incentive for a young straight guy trying to make a living sucking dick in gay porn.

Maybe I'm reading too much into this and there is a perfectly logical business explanation for why Corbin Fisher has declined in so many ways.  But as you scroll through the next four pages of the menu, the pattern becomes patently clear: that the same six or seven players appear in at least two scenes each on each page, with poor popular Beau doing most of the heavy lifting, appearing in a scene almost every week.

We shall eagerly wait and see if the site will be able to quickly turn around in the coming weeks or continue to slide into permanent mediocrity.
